Come and hear the voices that will ignite change!
Throughout history, audiences have been compelled into action by
the powerful words of many great leaders. It is often wondered, however,
why these voices seem typically silent in the age of the Internet, cell
phones, and sound bites. Even with the advent of recent protests, their
messages seem to get lost in the mix. The academic intersection of
historical contextualization and applied rhetorical theory can help us
devise a mechanism not only to appreciate the magic of these historical
speeches, but perhaps embolden a new generation to take their place on
the podium, behind the lectern and create their own history.
