The connection between black magic and Charles Baudelaire’s “Les Fleurs Du MaI” was made clear through Jon Leaver’s presentation “The Aesthetics of the Occult: Black Magic in Baudelaire’s ‘Les Fleurs Du Mal.’” Leaver is an assistant professor of art history. His research focuses on 19th century French art and criticism as well as 20th century art and critical theory.
