President’s Day

The University of La Verne will be closed Monday to observe the President’s Day holiday. Classes will resume at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

Ring Series Lecture

Al Clark, associate vice president for academic affairs, will present the lecture “German Nationalism and the Rise of the Ring” at 7 p.m. Thursday. The event is part of the Ring Festival L.A., a celebration of the Los Angeles Opera’s first ever performance of Richard Wagner’s “Ring” cycle. Admission is free.

Spotlight Weekend

The Office of Admissions will host Spotlight Weekend for prospective students from April 9 to April 10. For the first time in four years, it will be an overnight event. Applications for Spotlight Weekend Leaders are being accepted and can be picked up in the Office of Admission and are due by 5 p.m. Friday. For more information, call Adam Wu, assistant director of admissions, at 909-392-2800.

Winter Formal

The Campus Activities Board will host Winter Formal on Feb. 26 at the Padua Hills Theater in Claremont. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased now in the Office of Student Life. Semi-formal attire is required for the event. For more information, call CAB at 909-593-3511, ext. 4424.
