The University of La Verne is offering a 10 week summer volunteer program that can fulfill CORE 305 or a Community Service requirement and offers a $3000 tuition scholarship for the following year. This program has sites in camps, churches, and social service agencies in California, Oregon and Washington, and is working on sites in Mexico. Although the program was developed by the Church of the Brethren, any interested student does not have to have religious affiliation to participate, but rather a willingness to set goals and reach them. It’s a great program for developing leadership and reflecting on life’s direction. All room and board provided, so all expenses are taken care of during the summer assignment. For more information, pick up a brochure at the information table in front of the Campus Center from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays or email Debbie Roberts at email@example.com. Interviews begin in mid-March.
