Spring commencement is a mere week away and the lineup of graduation speakers was recently announced.
The College of Law commencement ceremony will take place Sunday at the Sports Science and Athletics Pavilion at 2 p.m.
Irene Khan, former secretary general of Amnesty International, will be given the graduating remarks to the law students.
Khan is a prominent human rights activist and the Chancellor of the University of Salford in Manchester, England. She is also a consulting editor of the English newspaper the Daily Star.
The College of Arts and Science ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. May 28 at Ortmayer Stadium.
The keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Rev. Mark E. Whitlock, pastor of Christ Our Redeemer AME Church and the director of corporate partnerships for the AME.
The College of Business and Public Management will have their commencement at 9:30 a.m. on May 29 at Ortmayer as well.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca will serve as commencement speaker.
Baca has presented his views on terrorism with students and faculty in 2004 during the International Studies Institute event Hot Spots series.
Sheriff Baca is the Director of Homeland Security-Mutual Aid for California Region. He also established the Office of Review Independent Review.
The Doctoral Program in Organizational Leadership will be held at the Sheraton Suites Fairplex at 11:30 a.m. on May 29.
