One of the values of the University of La Verne is community and diversity. Living that mission was very much in evidence today when coach Richard Reed and Pui Lok Choi teamed up to bring members of the athletic teams (basketball, football, soccer and perhaps more) to support Autism Month at the Pomona Valley Workshop. They gave up their Saturday to shoot hoops with people suffering from autism and to help us raise money for a disease that continues to grow and confound people affected by it and trying to treat it.
As a board member at PVW, I want to thank all those involved with the event from the bottom of my heart. You really live La Verne’s mission!
