‘From the Car’

The Carlson Gallery will show “From the Car,” a black and white photography exhibit, through Oct. 8.

The exhibit showcases photographs taken of passengers in cars during a daily commute by Los Angeles-based photographer Lillian Elaine Wilson. Admission is free.

Dirty Projectors

KXLU presents the Dirty Projectors at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Glass House in Pomona. Dominique Young Unique will open the show. Tickets are $20.

Academy Exhibit

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invites guests to tour the exhibit “Up From the Vault: 85 Years of Treasures from the Warner Bros Photo Lab,” which will run through Dec. 30 at the Academy’s Galleries at 8949 Wilshire Blvd. in Beverly Hills.

This exhibit will represent films such as “Casablanca,” “Batman Begins” and “Ocean’s Eleven” with photographs, ad art, publicity photos and scene stills from each movie. Admission is free. For more information, visit oscars.org.

Jimmy Eat World

Jimmy Eat World will perform at 8 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Fox Theater. We Were Promised Jetpacks will open the show. Tickets cost $35 for general admission. For more information, visit foxpomona.com.

Claremont Musuem of Art

“Bas Jan Ader: Sus­pended Between Laughter and Tears” will be on display Sept. 30 through Dec. 10 at the Claremont Museum of Art.
