Flu Vaccinations

The Student Health Center will be offering influenza vaccinations from Sept. 27 to Oct. 1 to students and faculty who qualify. There will be a $10 fee for the vaccine. For more information and to make an appointment call 909-593-3511, ext. 4254.

Faculty Lectures

The faculty lecture series, sponsored by the Faculty Research Committee and the La Verne Academy will continue at noon on Monday with Ruth Trotter’s lecture “Artists in Residence” in the President’s Dining Room. Bill Cook will present “Light from Darkness” on Oct. 4 and on Oct. 11 Teri McMurtry-Chubb will present her lecture, “Race Unequals and Social Betters.”

Literacy Gala

The University of La Verne Literacy Center is hosting a benefit organized by the Literacy Center Circle of Friends on Oct. 9 in the Ludwick Conference Center. Stephen Krashen, respected expert of linguistics, is the featured speaker at the event. For more information, please call 909-593-3511, ext. 4660.

Wilson Library Website

The Wilson Library website has added Easy Search to help students in research for classes. Easy Search searches books available in the library as well as databases and encyclopedias in a single search. Students can save and print their results list to bring with them when on campus.
