Daneshbod demonstrates math principles

Yousef Daneshbod, assistant professor of mathematics, graduated with a master’s degree from Shiraz University in Iran and a doctorate from Claremont Graduate University. On Monday Daneshbod’s lecture, titled “The Geometry of Undamped Harmonic Oscillators,” addressed the mathematics of droplets and their practical uses, one of which is the mobius strip, which when used in machinery wears evenly on each side. Daneshbod’s talk was part of the weekly faculty lecture series. / photo by Warren Bessant
