Presidents break ground for new dorm

Construction began last week on the largest structure ever built on the University of La Verne campus. President Steve Morgan and President-Select Devorah Lieberman stand together linking the University of La Verne’s past to its future as they participate in the groundbreaking of the new residence hall on March 31. The new residence hall, at D and Second streets, is due to open in the fall of 2012 and will have space for 387 students. University administrators hope the new dorm will attract residential undergraduate students. Lieberman was visiting as one of her monthly visits before she takes office July 1. / photo by David Bess
