909 Film Festival
The 909 Film Festival will feature short films made by young filmmakers who live in or make films set in the 909 area code. The event will take place 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today in Room 212 of the Arts and Communications Building. For more information call 909-593-3511, ext. 4277.
The Theatre Seminar will host writer and director of television, film and theater, Julie Hebert from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Jane Dibbell Cabaret Theater. Hebert’s award-winning work includes plays like “Almost Sleep” and TV shows like “ER” and “The West Wing.”
Yoko Ono Exhibit
Starting at 11 a.m. on Nov. 7, the Harris Art Gallery will hold an exhibition of “Yoko Ono and John Lennon’s Year of Peace.” The Exhibition will feature Ono’s avant-garde and popular art as well as a photo presentation of the worldwide broadcast of the Beatles’ song “All You Need is Love.” For more information, contact Dion Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 909-593-3511, ext. 4273.
Open Mic Night
Black Student Union is holding an Open Mic Night featuring performances from poets, musicians and singers at 10 p.m. on Nov. 10 in Dailey Theatre.
Scripps College’s new art conservation major is previewed in an exhibition from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the Clark Humanities Museum in Claremont. The exhibit will discuss how the new major combines subjects of science, art and technology.
