Academic Symposia

There will be two symposium panels from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. today. There will be four symposium panels that discuss topics such as lifelong learning, spirituality, civic engagement and inclusivity and diversity. Registration for the panels begins at 8:30 a.m.

Presidential Inauguration

Devorah Lieberman will be inaugurated as the University of La Verne’s 18th president at 4 p.m. today in the Sports Science and Athletic Pavilion. For more information visit laverne.edu/inauguration.

Grad School Prep Course

The College of Arts and Sciences and the Learning Enhancement Center are offering a preparatory course for the GRE General Exam. The course begins Oct. 25 and lasts six sessions. Juniors and seniors applying to graduate schools are encouraged to attend. Four sessions will be on Tuesdays from 6 pm to 8 pm and two sessions will be on Thursdays. There is a $25 fee to reserve a spot. Faculty Lecture

Professor Richard Rose will give a talk titled “The Current Pluralism of Religious Pluralism in African American Seminaries” at noon on Oct. 24 in the President’s Dining Room.

Hot Spots Lecture

Professors Jay Jones, Robert Neher, Matthew Witt, Omid Furatan and Al Clark will discuss “Sustainability: A Global Perspective” at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 27 in the President’s Dining Room.
