Sophomore first baseman Raven Freret is congratulated by head coach Julie Smith after hitting a home run in the first inning of the second game of La Verne’s doubleheader against Pomona-Pitzer in Claremont Saturday. Freret’s blast gave the Leopards to a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, the Leopards gave up both games, 6-5 and 9-8. The Leopards now hold a 10-4 overall record and a 6-4 SCIAC record. The Leopards are currently in fourth place in SCIAC. The Leopards will face Redlands in a double-header at noon and 2 p.m. Saturday at Wheeler Park.
