‘Raisin in the Sun’
The theater department’s fall production, “Raisin in the Sun” by Lorraine Hansberry, focuses on the financial and personal struggles of a poor African American family in Chicago. The play will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20, 22, and 27-29 in Dailey Theatre. General admission is $10, $8, and $5 for students.
“Visible” is a group exhibition in the Harris Gallery featuring Los Angeles artist Joel Biel, Patrick Lee, Mark Dean Veca, and Eric Yahnker. Veca and Yahnker draw upon on pop culture figures to create visual absurdities, while Lee and Biel focus on head shot portraits. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The exhibit runs through Oct. 18.
Photographs from “East Side Stories: Gang Life in East L.A.” and “Juvenile” by Joseph Rodriguez are on display in the Carlson Gallery in Miller Hall. The exhibit runs through Oct. 12.
