ULV offers tax help

The University of La Verne is once again offering free tax assistance to local La Verne residents.

This yearly service is provided through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, sponsored by the IRS.

The goal of this program is to help eligible families properly file their taxes at no cost to them.

It consists of more than 30 trained students and faculty from the College of Business and Public Management.

The students involved have to take a test in order to be eligible to provide these services and are IRS certified, along with being supervised by La Verne faculty.

The program will run through tax season until April 13 as part of theIncome Tax Assistance program.

It is open every Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and held in the College of Business and Public Management Building.

Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred and are prioritized on a first come, first served basis.

Those eligible for the program must reside within the surrounding La Verne communities and should have low to moderate income.

For more information contact or call 909-593-3511, ext. 5980.
