Poetry Reading

The modern languages and creative writing department presents a poetry reading by poet Karen An-Hwei Lee at noon Thursday in the Chapel. Lee will be reading from her latest book of poems, “Phyla of Joy.” Admission is free.

Gospel Concert

The music department presents “Gospel Fusion: Gershwin and Beyond” at 8 p.m. on April 29 in Morgan Auditorium. Admission is a $20 recommended donation and student admission is free.

‘Geolocation’

The Carlson Gallery presents photographers Nate Larson and Marni Shindelman’s exhibit “Geo­location: Desert-scapes” which will run until May 24. The gallery is open to the public 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. The reception for the artists will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Admission is free.

‘Campus Selections’

The Harris Gallery presents “Campus: Selections from the La Verne Art Collection.” This exhibition will feature works by several artists. The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, until May 20. The reception will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Admission is free.

‘Merchant of Venice’

The theatre department presents William Shake­speare’s “The Merchant of Venice” at 7:30 p.m. on April 25-27 and May 2-4, and 2 p.m. on May 5 in Dailey Theatre. General admission is $10, staff admission is $8 and students are $5. For reservations call 909-593-3511, ext. 4386.
