Donors help the American Red Cross

Phlebotomist Monica Lopez inserts a needle to draw blood from sophomore business major Jacqueline Perez at the American Red Cross blood drive Wednesday. This is Perez’s second time giving blood. Students, faculty and staff who donate will contribute one unit, or pint, of blood per person. If they meet a certain body measurement and blood-type requirements, they can donate twice the amount of red blood cells per pint using the Alyx Component Collection System. / photo by Helen Arase
