I realize that the last thing people want to hear any more about is the parking situation. I do not have an answer to the problem, but I have some minor suggestions that might make things a little easier.

Vote ‘yes’ on 30: Fund public schools

Prop. 30 would increase the state sales tax from 7.25 percent to 7.5 percent for four years, even though most Los Angelinos are already paying a sales tax of 8.75 percent.

Put issues above appearance

As the presidential election is almost upon us, the people of the United States have been subjected to the petty slap attacks between our two major candidates over the course of the debates. Audiences have watched as the candidates have bounced insults and ideas off each other and reacted on-the-spot to criticism.

Hazing is unacceptable

Since the news of hazing at La Puente High School, old wounds have been reopened for locals in Southern California. Last week freshman members of the boy’s soccer team came forward and accused at least 10 of their older teammates of jumping them in the supply closet and beating them. At least one boy was sodomized.

Fliers contradict University values

The University prides itself on being a dry campus. There is a double standard if it allows the publicizing of an event held elsewhere with the same problem it is trying to keep off the campus.
