Many University of La Verne biology department faculty members attended the “Essence of Pictures: Photography as a Collective Microtome” photo exhibit reception as photographers presented their personal works on nature in the Carlson Gallery Feb. 26.
Michael Ryan and Friends took the audience to Ireland through a concert performing Irish favorites and original compositions at 6 p.m. Sunday in Morgan Auditorium.
“The Hunting Ground,” directed by Kirby Dick, is a documentary that opens with videos of high school seniors excitedly opening their acceptance letters to universities. Screams and shouts of joy are soon paired with videos of move-in days and administrative speeches at convocation ceremonies.
The Latino Art Museum presented various artworks that celebrated Argentine heritage and culture, Valentine’s Day and love at two shows throughout February in the Art Colony in Pomona.

The Muqarnas trio brought together instruments from different parts of the world to create complementary melodies that captured various cultures Saturday in Morgan Auditorium.
“Southern Migration,” an exhibit at the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona, displays artists’ work from Ruby’s Clay Studio and Gallery.
“Breaking Illusion: Artist as Scientist” opened Wednesday night, showcasing scientific approaches to art.
