With balloons and posters in the stands, Leopard fans brought their clappers and noise makers to cheer on the men’s soccer team to a 1-0 overtime win against Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday at Damien High School.

Despite displaying a much-improved performance, the La Verne Leopards dropped their conference opener to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 20-17.
After a rainy day in La Verne, the women’s soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Redlands Bulldogs on a crisp, cold and clear night at Damien High School.
The cross country men’s team finished in fourth place, setting two school records, while the women’s team finished 13th Saturday.
As of Tuesday, the Leopard volleyball team holds a current stance of 4-2 in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and last Saturday they defeated the Redlands Bulldogs in a hard-hitting three-set sweep, 25-23, 25-16 and 25-17.
If it wasn’t for the football players walking around in their jerseys, or the cheerleaders walking around with their pom poms, one might have mistaken the pep rally for a party with the blasting hip-hop music presented by Power 106 and DJ Nibblez.
