The La Verne football team’s playoff run was cut short, after a 57-14 loss Saturday against the No. 3 ranked University of St. Thomas in the first round of the NCAA Division III championships at O’Shaughnessy Stadium in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Leopards beat the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens, 49-35, Saturday at Merritt Field in Claremont to remain undefeated in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The women on the La Verne swimming and diving team shined at the team’s home opener and first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletics Conference dual meet against Occidental Saturday at the La Verne Aquatics Center.
The men’s soccer team fought hard for the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship title against the Redlands Bulldogs but were unable to come out on top, as the Bulldogs took the match, 2-1, Saturday at Farquhar Field.
After falling behind as many as six goals, the men’s water polo team lost to the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens, 11-5, Saturday at La Verne Aquatics Center.
