Senior Derek Zachman had a successful second and final season with the golf team which continued its winning streak, capturing its seventh consecutive league title at the 54-hole SCIAC Championships last month in Beaumont.

The golf team has had quite a successful season after winning the 2012 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Confer­ence golf championship for the sixth consecutive year.

After helping the golf team win the SCIAC Championship, it would seem unlikely that things could get better for junior psychology major Andrew Roque, but they did.

On April 25 the golf team won the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships for the fifth year in a row.

They are ranked in the top 15 nationally in two polls and are trying to win their fifth Southern California Intercolleg­iate Ath­letic Conference title in a row, yet they do not get recognized half as much as the other less successful teams on campus do.

After a weekend of rainy weather, the sun was out on Tuesday when La Verne took first place in SCIAC No. 3 tournament at Sierra Lakes Golf Course.
