The men’s water polo team saw its winning streak come to a halt Wednesday afternoon after suffering a 12-8 loss to Cal Lutheran in the final home game of the season at Las Flores Park.

The men’s water polo team opened conference play with a 12-7 loss Wednesday afternoon against the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens at Haldeman Pool in Pomona.

The men’s water polo team fell short of a victory Saturday in the Inland Empire Tourna­ment at the La Verne Aquatic Center, losing to conference rivals Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 10-5.

After ending last season with a record of 6-28 overall and 3-7 in conference, the men’s water polo team has high hopes for making it into the top four in the Southern California Intercolleg­iate Athletic Conference for the 2012 season.

The men’s water polo team finished the Southern California Intercol­legiate Athletic Conference with a 3-7 record and placed sixth in the tournament with a 1-2 record.
