Neither Davenport Dining Hall nor Barbara’s Place list nutritional facts about the meals offered, and many students feel their meal choice would be altered if those facts were posted.

In most universities, there are always students complaining about the food in their dining halls. At the University of La Verne, there is no exception. Complaints about flavor, preparation and lack of variety are always mentioned and sometimes worked on, but one thing that is never changing is the lack of options for vegetarians.
Inside the Campus Center during, lunch and dinner hours, students line up curving off to the left of the counter, making the small space seem hectic. But the crowd isn’t from Barbara’s Place crew not caring.
Among the changes on campus to accommodate the historically high number of traditional undergraduates, Davenport Dining Hall has undergone some renovations.

After nine years with Sodexo food services, the University of La Verne has decided to place a bid for other companies to fulfill the University’s residential dining, retail and catering needs.
Changes in food service and selection have been implemented in campus dining facilities recently, but they are not appeasing La Verne students.
If any University of La Verne student or faculty goes to Barbara’s Place or Davenport Dining Hall, they are presented with many hot food options. But if anyone was searching for a healthy option as to not gain the “freshman 15” or because they were on a diet, they would be out of luck.
With the beginning of a new year, dining services at the University of La Verne have adopted some changes as far as menu items, operating hours and methods of payment accepted at Davenport Dining Hall and Barbara’s Place.
