Erin Stroh serves up an order of biscuits and gravy, a popular menu item at Norm’s Hangar Coffee Shop at Brackett Airport in La Verne. Stroh’s mother-in-law, Kathy Touche, took over the restaurant from her father-in-law, Norm. Touche inherited the restaurant’s recipes, which remain on the menu today. Brackett Airport has served as a staging area for helicopters fighting the Morris Dam Fire, which started August 25, and the Station Fire, which broke out the next day.
