La Verne’s Ortmayer Stadium was filled with an active home crowd Saturday as students, faculty and friends cheered on the track and field team against SCIAC rivals Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Caltech.

The women’s water polo team defeated Caltech 15-7 at Las Flores Park Friday. The game was the Leopards’ second game in the annual Claremont Convergence event.

The Leopards swept a doubleheader against the Caltech Beavers Saturday at Arce Field of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, winning the first game 5-3 and 6-0 in the second.

The Leopards beat the Caltech Beavers in their final regular season match with a score of 12-5 Saturday at Las Flores Park.

Sophomore George Hanna was standing on second base in the bottom of the first inning when senior Jacob Ludvik ensured the Leopard baseball team a lead that would stand against the Caltech Beavers in a 12-2 eight inning mercy rule win.

Seniors Chantal Crouzet and Raphaelle Buenafe ended their Leopard careers on a high note, helping the women’s basketball team cruise to a 90-36 senior night win over Caltech on Saturday.

The men’s basketball team played its final home game Saturday and came out with a win over Caltech, 69-52.

La Verne finished strong at its final home meet against the Caltech Beavers in a close 121-111 win for the men and a 116-106 win for the women.

The men’s water polo team finished the Southern California Intercol­legiate Athletic Conference with a 3-7 record and placed sixth in the tournament with a 1-2 record.
