On Thursday evenings after closing hours, the sound of live music, artists speaking at workshops and people discussing exhibitions are still evident at the Pomona College Museum of Art for Art After Hours.
Actress and activist Geena Davis spoke about women’s presence in the media at Scripps College in Claremont last week. The entire Garrison Theatre was packed with people eager to hear Davis’ presentation.

Scripps College students Lisa Kau, Elena Hernandez, LM Ellzey and Lee Ann Allen dance to the song “Bless the Lord.” Dance teams from the Claremont colleges presented self-choreographed pieces at the Pendleton Dance Center at Pomona College on Friday. The event featured a range of dance genres ranging from ballroom to hip-hop.
The Claremont McKenna College Quadrangle was filled with the tastes and sounds of cultures from around the world on Saturday afternoon.
Bill Gates led a question-and-answer session on March 10 in Bridges Auditorium in Claremont in front of students from Pomona College and Harvey Mudd College. Gates spoke little about Microsoft and instead focused more on the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, healthcare, agriculture and his other philanthropic ventures.
Approximately 1,400 American, European and ethnic instruments dating from the 17th century to present day of most types are displayed in three thematic rooms at the Kenneth G. Fiske Museum of Musical Instruments at the Claremont Colleges.
Spectators were awed as students of the Claremont Colleges performed an all student choreographed fall dance recital titled “In The Works; a Concert of Student Dance Works” on Saturday in the Pendleton Dance Center at Pomona College.
