Many people ask me why I choose to be in journalism when newspapers are dying and people are not interested in reading the news anymore.

Besides being a University of La Verne student and Web editor for the Campus Times, I am also a part time sales person. Not just any sales person – I sell shoes.

Immigration has played a big part in my family and it has established who I am today. Almost everyone from my grandparents to my parents came to the United States from Mexico.
