At 76 Peggy Redman, director of the La Verne experience and director of teacher education, is retiring.
University administrators will launch phase two of the La Verne Experience – the sophomore experience – in the fall of 2014. The Sophomore La Verne Experience, or SOLVE, will essentially be a two-unit course centered around student involvement.
Lanney Mayer, associate professor of education, presented “Integrating Faith with Learning in a Postmodern Age” to a group of about 20 faculty members and students as part of the faculty lecture series Monday in the President’s Dining Room.
For more than 120 years, University of La Verne students have taken part in an inexplicable shared culture. It has always been here. It has evolved just as the people involved in it have, but until now, it had not been named: The La Verne Experience.
Starting in fall 2012, incoming freshmen at the University will be place in “learning communities” or linked classes, as the University begins to implement changes with the goal of creating a “La Verne Experience” the supports students and distinguishes the University.
