Blogging has become a lifestyle for many people. Some devote all their time, effort and credentials into running these blogging outlets. Used for an assortment of purposes on the Internet; Be it a personal interest, educational or professional outlet, blogging is very existent, and widely-used.

As United States citizens, we are often told about the horrors of the police state. Soldiers patrolling throughout cities, rifles at the ready to arrest and detain anyone engaging in suspicious behavior, with no one to answer to except for themselves.

Republican candidates at the foreign policy debate on Saturday were asked to share their views on torture. This question segued into their views on waterboarding. Both Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain said that if elected, they would return to the practice of waterboarding as an interrogation technique.

The leaderless protest group “Occupy Wall Street” has entered its third week of demonstrations. The protests, which began on Sept. 17, have for the most part been peaceful, drawing in crowds of thousands to New York City’s Zuccotti Park.

In March of 2008 Eliot Spitzer resigned his position as governor of New York for paying for sex. In 2007 Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana resigned after he was linked to a prostitution ring.

I obviously have chosen to attend the University of La Verne to receive a degree in journalism. I went into this knowing the industry is known to be dying.
