With balloons and posters in the stands, Leopard fans brought their clappers and noise makers to cheer on the men’s soccer team to a 1-0 overtime win against Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday at Damien High School.
The women’s soccer team hosted Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday night and came out with a 4-0 loss. The Sagehens controlled the possession of the ball and the Leopards had trouble sinking their opportunities.
An exciting second half led to a Whittier comeback, resulting in a 2-1 final score as the men’s soccer team fell to the visiting Poets in overtime on Sept. 14 at Damien High School.
The Leopards took care of business on the field, sweeping the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens by scores of 4-3 and 10-4 on Senior Day on April 22.
La Verne suffered a pair of losses over the weekend against Redlands and Whittier. The Bulldogs dominated the Leopards at the Claremont Club on Friday, 9-0, and the Poets continued dominance on Saturday, winning 7-2.

In a game that saw Emily Carrillo reach a milestone, the Leopards were not able to hold off Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Saturday at Ducey Gymnasium, falling 71-66.
