Stephen and Ann Morgan were honored as Alumni of the Year at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel last Friday.

The University of La Verne’s Homecoming weekend is Nov. 5, 6 and 7 and consists of many events for the University’s alumni as well as current students.

The Presidential Search Advisory Committee for months has been at work selecting the next president of the University of La Verne, though this year’s search unlike previous searches is being conducted under strict confidentiality confines.

This January the University of La Verne will unveil the renovated Founders Auditorium. Completion of the long-anticipated revamp of this historic performance hall will be accompanied by a renaming of the hall after University President Steve Morgan and his wife, Ann.

Convocation speakers hailed a tech-savvy generation, encouraged new students to enjoy college within reason, and asked them to make a difference in the world – as so many Leopards have.

A new report has revealed the University of La Verne passed the first phase of the rigorous re-accreditation process, which also means it still has work to do. The report, a capacity and preparatory review, was prepared by the Western Associa tion of Schools and Colleges and featured a list of praises and problems – many of which are related to the University’s lack of a shared vision.

The University’s Working Group on Diversity has proposed a strategic plan for diversity among faculty, staff and students to support the diverse student body, improve climate and foster research on diversity issues.

On Jan. 4, the University of La Verne Board of Trustees voted unanimously to rename Founders Auditorium to the Ann and Steve Morgan Auditorium.
