Students and student athletes filled Villalobos Hall at Whittier College on Tuesday to hear Jeff Sheng, the creator of “Fearless,” speak.

It was a fruitful weekend for the men’s and women’s track and field teams as they won three of four total competitions at Occidental on Saturday.
The football team ended the 2011 season on Saturday on a high note by beating Whittier in a closely contested game, 24-20. With the win over the Poets, the Leopards finished the season with its best record since 2005.
The men’s water polo team finished the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 3-7 record and placed sixth in the tournament with a 1-2 record.
On senior day Saturday the Leopards lost both of their games at Las Flores Park, with an emotional 10-9 loss to the Whittier Poets and a 12-7 loss to the Vanguard Lions.
Saturday was a big night for Leopard volleyball as it faced off with the visiting Whittier Poets in senior Mika Chan’s final home game at La Verne. The Leopards fell in a sweep, 25-13, 28-26 and 25-23.
