After being involved in sports almost her entire life, senior basketball and softball player Ashley Paul no longer has another season to look forward to.

Youth and size converged in a heartbreaking 52-45 loss for the women’s basketball against Occidental in a SCIAC tournament semifinal at Occidental last Friday.

To earn a postseason berth, the women’s basketball team needed all four quarters plus overtime to defeat Redlands, 78-77, on a game winning layup by senior forward Emily Carrillo.

In a game that saw Emily Carrillo reach a milestone, the Leopards were not able to hold off Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Saturday at Ducey Gymnasium, falling 71-66.

In a game that was close throughout, with neither team gaining an advantage of more than five points, the Leopards earned a 58-55 win Saturday against Cal Lutheran, a team they previously lost to by 25.
