After a strong rally in a close match, a ball into the net signified the women’s tennis team’s 9-0 defeat to Chapman at the Claremont Club Friday.
The tennis season came to a tough close for La Verne as it finished with a 2-8 record in conference and 7-14 overall.
La Verne suffered a pair of losses over the weekend against Redlands and Whittier. The Bulldogs dominated the Leopards at the Claremont Club on Friday, 9-0, and the Poets continued dominance on Saturday, winning 7-2.
It was a cold, cloudy day as the Leopards took on Salisbury University, fighting their way through the match, but ending the day with an 8-1 loss at the Claremont Club last Thursday.
With the new semester around the corner, students are curious to see what is in store for the 2011 spring sports season.
The University Board of Trustees recently approved the next phase of La Verne’s Master Plan for Campus Development.
