Sweet sounds of student voices rang loudly throughout Morgan Auditorium Sunday night at the student recital.

The lights dimmed, the applause came to a slow stop and the scene crew set up a brick wall dividing the stage. Thus began an unexpected tale of romance as “The Romancers,” a play directed by theater arts major Zachary Green began Wednesday night in Dailey Theatre.
Wednesday night marked the beginning of the four-night student-directed one-acts event in Dailey Theatre. The one-acts are part of the finals of the directing class to give the students hands-on experience in directing.
“The Pillowman,” an Irish play written by Martin McDonagh, was adapted to American theater and is being brought to the University of La Verne by Danny Bride for his senior project.
