College of Business Professional Certificate Programs

Our professional certificate programs can boost career opportunities and provide new skills without commitment to a complete master’s degree program. Completed certificates can count toward one of the MBA or MSLM degrees. Each certificate program consists of four graduate-level business courses.

Certificates are taught at our La Verne campus and online year-round with five starts per year.

Certificate Programs

4 courses, 12 units
This certificate is designed for individuals who want to better understand the fundamentals of accounting. It focuses on learning the systematic recording, analyzing, and reporting of data entry in the process of assessing an organization’s performance.  Course coverage will include corporate accounting, auditing standards, and taxation. All courses may count toward the Master of Science in Accounting or Master of Business for Experienced Professionals (MBAX).

This certificate is designed for individuals who want to develop a fundamental understanding of finance. It provides students with analytical tools that can be used to understand the fundamentals of finance in several areas including corporate finance, investment, banking, and international finance. All courses may count toward the Master of Science in Finance or Master of Business for Experienced Professionals (MBAX).

This certificate provides a foundation in human resources management. All courses may count toward the Master of Science in Leadership and Management.

This certificate provides a foundation in information technology in a business setting. It focuses on understanding core information systems principles and applying them to different organizations. All courses may count toward the Master of Business for Experienced Professionals (MBAX).

This certificate is designed for individuals who want to develop a fundamental understanding of international business. It provides students with the conceptual framework and analytics tools needed to understand the dynamics of the economic, financial, managerial, technological, and political aspects of international business.  All courses may count toward the Master of Business for Experienced Professionals (MBAX).

This certificate provides an overview of management and leadership techniques. It focuses on learning how to influence and motivate others and how to take care of day-to -day operations of organizations. Both courses may count toward the Master of Business for Experienced Professionals (MBAX).

This certificate is designed for individuals who want to understand the basics of marketing. It focuses on the fundamentals of domestic and international marketing strategies. It provides students with the opportunity to learn skills necessary to develop effective marketing strategies for brand management, digital marketing, and consumer behavior. All courses may count toward the Master of Business for Experienced Professionals (MBAX).

This certificate emphasizes the human dimensions associated with leading and managing nonprofit organizations. All courses may count toward the Master of Science in Leadership and Management.

This certificate deals with the state-of-the-art knowledge necessary to design and manage supply chain management systems. The emphasis will be on analyzing supply chain issues from both strategic and operational perspectives. All courses in this certificate program may count toward the Master of Business for Experienced Professionals (MBAX).
