February 13, 2013 by University of La Verne

Once again, the University of La Verne, and the Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL’s 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, team up to bring you the 4th Annual Go Green/Teacher Appreciation Night. The Reign will take on the Idaho Steelheads on Saturday, February 16th at Citizens Business Bank Arena at 6:00 pm.

Evening festivities spotlight the La Verne experience, from the puck drop by professor Emeritus Jimmy Paschal, the recognition of outstanding professor Rex Huigens during the first intermission, to Reign student/interns discussing their experience at La Verne. The entire celebration embodies the four core University values that promote a positive and rewarding life for its students, fostering a genuine appreciation and respect for values, community and diversity, lifelong learning, and community service.

The Reign players will be wearing specialty green jerseys during the game, which will be auctioned off immediately following the game. Proceeds from the auction directly benefit La Verne’s Scholarship Foundation. Over the last three years, this significant event has raised over $75,000.00, providing additional scholastic opportunity for fortunate scholarship recipients.
