Dr. Redman received her B.A., M.A., and Ed.D. degrees from the University of La Verne. She has been a junior high school, elementary school and primary school teacher. She taught in the public schools of California for fourteen years, two years in junior high school, five years in primary grades, and seven years as the teacher/administrator in the K-6 Mentally Gifted Minor (MGM) program for the Bonita Unified School District. In this capacity she served on a county curriculum committee and wrote qualitatively different curriculum for use with gifted students in the classroom. In addition she served as a college administrator at the University of La Verne for nine years, gaining experience in strategic planning, budgeting and allocation of resources. In collaboration with Dr. Hector Lopez, Dr. Redman has worked with school districts and communities in the area of multicultural awareness. She has been the Program Chair for Teacher Education at the University of La Verne since 1992, and in this capacity successfully coordinated early adoption of the program under SB2042 guidelines.
