Our Design Services team masterfully creates professionally-designed material that projects a consistent and easily recognized image to strengthen and promote the University of La Verne brand. We have constructed the University’s visual style guide and prepare promotional material for distribution within and outside the campus. Our work communicates the distinctive character and unique visual identity of the University. We provide concept development and design for print and electronic media, including advertisements, brochures, signage, email and other communication vehicles.
OSC Graphic Design Policy
No member of the University of La Verne Community may design, print or produce, or contract to design, print or produce an official university publication intended for distribution to external audiences (off campus) without the approval of the Office of Strategic Communications (OSC).
The Design Process
Great design begins with a strong understanding of your target audience. Taking the time to thoughtfully prepare your project and answer all questions in the Design Services request form, leads to the production of an impactful piece. The OSC Project Checklist will help you to thoroughly prepare during the project planning or Discover phase. If you need assistance in completing the form, your dedicated Client Contact will be available to guide you step-by-step.
The Three Stages of the Design Process:*
- Discover — Project kickoff. Determine client needs and develop list of deliverables. Stage one usually takes one week.
- Define & Develop — Design direction established and concepts created and refined. Stage two may take anywhere from one to three weeks.
- Deliver — Final execution and delivery of materials. Stage three may take anywhere from one to two weeks.
We request a minimum of five weeks of production for all new requests. Minor updates to existing projects and reprints without modification deliver in 3 weeks. Please plan accordingly.
*Time allotted is the minimum per stage and may vary, depending on the scope of the project. In order for us to stay on schedule, the client will need to deliver copy and other assets during stage one, before any work begins.
