Photo & Video

Photography and video production are specialized services within the Digital Communications team. We create photo and video narratives that convey messages through engaging storytelling. Our work helps showcase the people, programs, achievements, history and special events that distinguish the University of La Verne.

Photography

The right image sets the stage for great storytelling. Our photo services include portrait, event, promotional, editorial, and architectural shoots. Please note that all shoots must be completed within 3 hours. We’re happy to arrange external photographers for projects that require longer shoots or if internal resources are not available. These photo requests may incur costs billed to your department.

It is important that photo releases are obtained from all subjects granting permission for the specific terms of use. If you would like access to our image library, please visit our ImageRelay account for access and additional information.

We request a minimum of two weeks advance notice for photo shoots. Edited images will deliver two weeks from the shoot date. We will prepare cost estimates and agreements for projects that require external vendors.

Video Production

Video connects your audience to your message in a dynamic and emotional way, using a mix of music, still photography, and narration. Careful planning in the pre-production stage — concept & script development, budget, talent & location scouting, scheduling — is key to the success and timely completion of a project. Projects requiring external vendors may incur costs billed to your department.

Videos require a minimum of 8—12 weeks to complete, depending upon the complexity of the project and our production schedule. We will contact you to discuss your delivery date once we receive your project request. As with photo shoots, we will prepare cost estimates and agreements for projects that require external vendors.

Release Form

A photo release form is required for any photographs taken on University property or at a University event featuring a recognizable image of a student, faculty member, staff person, or member of the public. Crowd photos without a dominant subject are exempt.

These rules apply to photographs intended for use in any University publication, including brochures, flyers, newsletters, or other material. Photo release forms must also be obtained for photographs used on the web.
