What We Do

Campus, Assessment, Response and Evaluation (CARE) Network

The CARE Network at the University of La Verne seeks to support students in achieving emotional, physical, and social well-being and their academic goals. CARE 1) uses collaborative efforts, 2) shares resources, 3) coordinates services,  4) and develops additional resources.

Case Management Support

Higher Education Case Managers coordinate interventions and support efforts across campus and community resources to assist students who are facing crises, experiencing life stressors, and encountering barriers that impede success.

Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT)

The Behavioral Intervention Team addresses students, faculty, and staff whose behavior or psychological health condition may be disruptive, harmful or pose a direct threat to themselves or to the health and safety of the university community. BIT works collaboratively with campus and community resources to provide support to students experiencing distress, ensuring the community at large remains safe while the student involved gains the necessary resources to remain successful academically and personally.

Leo Food Pantry

The Leo Food Pantry aims to address food insecurity and alleviate student hunger on campus by hosting a monthly food distribution. Each month, currently enrolled ULV students are able to receive a food bag free of charge.

Consultations

SOS is available to provide guidance to those concerned about a student or who have had concerning interactions with a student. Consultation conversations are interactions that SOS has with individuals 1) wishing to discuss a student they are concerned about,  2) seeking advice about how to support a student, or 3) requesting guidance on making a referral.
