Phonathon takes place each semester and provides an opportunity for La Verne students to speak with alumni about the latest highlights around campus.
Just two weeks after the Grand Opening of the Sara & Michael Abraham Campus Center, the University of La Verne celebrated another grand event: The installation of the city’s first public art display, a 54-foot-tall sculpture named “Inhale/Exhale,” created by artist Phillip K. Smith III. Smith’s sculpture was commissioned by The Muriel Pollia Foundation and is the centerpiece of The Muriel Pollia Sculpture Garden at the center of campus. During her lifetime, Ms. Pollia was devoted to nurturing young artists and to cutting-edge creative processes. Smith’s sculpture was installed on September 29, 2009.[slideshow]
