Spring Commencement ’12

“Class of 2012, you are leaders. You will be the entrepreneurs, the teachers, the professionals who will go through life, achieving remarkable heights. Always remember where you came from – the University of La Verne.”

-President Devorah Lieberman

  • May 31, 2012

If there is a greater moment of pride for the University of La Verne other than seeing its students achieve academic success, it’s adding new and distinguished Alumni to the La Verne Family. This spring more than 2,000 graduates commenced on a journey of life long learning, taking with them skills, knowledge and the capacity to become successful leaders in their communities.

Four commencement ceremonies honored undergraduate and graduate candidates from the university’s main campus, from the Campus Accelerated Program for Adults (CAPA), students studying at regional campuses and off-campus programs overseen by the Regional Campus Administration (RCA) and students from the College of Law.

“Today these two graduating students have made their families’ dreams a reality by reaching this academic milestone, the Academic Mt. Everest. Let us applaud the parents, the spouses, the children, families and friends here today for being the support systems they are. This is their day, too,” said President Devorah Lieberman in her address to students. This marks President Lieberman’s first spring commencement since she assumed office last July.

Photographer Tom Zasadzinski ’83 and Jeanine Hill captured some of the special moments.
