Resume and Cover Letter Assistance
A resume is a document that displays your skills, experiences, accomplishments and education. Most employers will take 30 seconds or less to look at a resume. Therefore, your resume has to make a strong impact and communicate your value within that short time frame.
Our Career Development Specialists will review your resume and advise you on how to make it
professional and powerful.

Cover Letter Assistance
A cover letter introduces you and your resume to an employer. It highlights your most important
skills and accomplishments and is an opportunity to tell the employer why you are qualified for
the position. It is also an opportunity to express enthusiasm / passion for the work you can do.
Our Career Development Specialists will review your cover letter and provide you with professional feedback and guidance.

Preparation is the most important element in interviewing well. Many job-seekers do not sufficiently prepare for interviews. Being prepared means knowing as much information you can research about the company and the person you will be interviewing with, what questions you can anticipate in the interview, and how you will answer the most common and the most difficult interview questions. Practicing the answers to these questions will build your skills and confidence in an interview situation.
Our Career Development Specialists will help you prepare for interviews and are available
to conduct mock interviews by appointment.

A mentor is an experienced professional who volunteers to advise and guide students with their career paths. Mentors meet with students for a few hours each month to guide you to gain skills, experience and knowledge you need to achieve your career goals. Some mentors provide job-shadowing opportunities, and networking opportunities.
The CBPM Career and Professional Development Team is available to assist you in finding a mentor.
Students should contact Paul Boychuk for additional information regarding mentors.
Internship Search Advisement
An internship is an opportunity to gain real world experience and networking opportunities while still in school. Internships can be paid or unpaid, full-time or part-time. They are valuable learning and networking experiences and employers are impressed when they see an internship on the resume of a recent graduate.
