The Career Center supports all University of La Verne alumni through the career exploration and development process by providing unlimited resources one year post graduation. During this time, Alumni are provided with a scaffolding approach that helps move them from the four year ULV experience on to entry into the workforce. Upon one year, we partner with Alumni Engagement to connect alumni to appropriate post graduate resources including digital networking and mentorship. Visit Leo Connect for continued professional development.
Please visit the Technology page to discover more about the resources available to the alumni community.
First Destination Survey (FDS)
The First Destination Survey is used to drive Career Center and institutional initiatives. The Career Center collects FDS data from Fall and Spring graduates through Handshake at various programming and events such as Grad Finale. Students can also visit Handshake and take the survey at any time.
NACE’s First-Destination Survey captures information regarding how new college graduates fare in their careers within six months of graduation. The annual initiative provides clear, concise, and consistent data on the outcomes associated with a college education on a national scale. Outcomes include 1) types of employment—full or part time, contract, freelance, and so forth; 2) additional education, e.g., accepted to graduate or professional school; 3) still seeking either employment or further education; 4) and starting salary for those employed full time. In addition to providing outcomes for individual classes, the First-Destination Survey is designed to provide trends data over time to inform the discussion about the value of higher education (sourced from NACE).
