Door Decorating Contest – Extended Contest Entry to June 15!

1st Place Prizes:  Choice of iPad 6-Generation OR Apple AirPod Pro

Rules:

  1. Team can consist of up to two additional decorators. Follow social distancing guidelines. Wear Masks.
  2. Door decoration must follow a commencement/graduation theme.
  3. Door Decorating must utilize the ULV Congrats Poster on the door.
  4. No offensive or inappropriate language, images, or items on the door (including alcohol and drug paraphernalia).
  5. Do not use any material or product that can damage the door or surrounding wall.
  6. Only use clear tape or mounting putty only. Do not use glue on door.
  7. Door must be able to open and close.

Entry: Enter the La Verne Door Decorating Contest: @ulaverne and use the hashtag #leosforlife to submit your photo entry. Post a photo of you next to your decorated door on social media. Important:  To ensure your entry into the contest, must also send your photo via your laverne.edu address to commserv@laverne.edu.

Judging: Judging will be done by a committee of door decorating experts.

Criteria: Door will be evaluated according to the following criteria.

  1. Did door decorating follow the commencement/graduation theme.
  2. Door decorating design must utilize the ULV Congrats Poster on the door.
  3. Creativity. Visual Impact, Originality
  4. Craftsmanship

Mortarboard Cap Decorating Contest – Extended Contest Entry to June 15!

For the purposes of this contest…we are throwing out most of the guidelines for cap decorating that exist for our formal ceremonies. If you decide to Go Wild in decorating your cap, you have not adhered to the Commencement Official Guidelines. In fact, we encourage you to break the rules (except those listed). You are decorating your cap for pure creativity and enjoyment, not for the formal ceremonies.

Rules:

  • No offensive or inappropriate language, images, or items on cap (including alcohol and drug paraphernalia).
  • The decorated cap must be wearable on the top of the head.
  • Message relates to a commencement/graduation theme.
  • All parts of the cap can be decorated.
  • Decorating can be flat on top or any 2 Dimensional or 3 Dimensional objects may rest on the cap.
  • Decorated caps cannot hinder your health and safety, or of others. Follow all safety consideration in decorating you cap.

Entry: Enter the La Verne Mortarboard Cap Decorating Contest @ulaverne and use the hashtag #leosforlife to submit your selfie. Post a photo of you with your decorated cap on social media. To ensure your entry into the contest, also send your photo via your laverne.edu address to: commserve@laverne.edu. Remember your decorated caps must be wearable on your head. Caps that do not follow the guidelines, will not be judged.

Winners: Due to delayed partial gift packages mailed this week, the entry for the Mortarboard Cap and Door Decorating Contests are extended to June 15.  Winners announced through Social Media on June 19.

Important Notice

  • All University of La Verne judicial discipline policies will be in effect during these contests.
  • Official cap decorating guidelines will be available to graduates for Commencement Ceremonies on the commencement website when it goes live in Fall.
