9th Annual MLK Day of Service

The life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. continue to inspire us to act and be bold against injustice and to be inclusive in our words and deeds. The University of La Verne’s Office of Civic and Community Engagement 9th Annual MLK Day of Service seeks to not only recommit itself to its core values, but also to invite students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to honor the legacy of service and community inspired by Dr. King.

All MLK Day of Service activities will be virtual. There will be three (3) activities you can choose to participate in. You can choose to attend one or all three events!

Events

  • 10:00am-11:00am: Career Ready through Community Service: Where Skills and Service Meet!
  • 11:00am-4:00pm: Washington March on Minecraft! presented by L.A. Works (you can choose from a selection of start times starting from 11:00am up to 4:00pm)
  • 12:30-2:30pm: Homelessness and Race – a virtual workshop presented by L.A. Works
