Hot Spots on Global Peace: Ambassador Marcela Celorio
In celebration of the opening of the University of La Verne Ludwick Center for Spirituality, Cultural Understanding, & Community Engagement, the International Studies Institute is happy to present a special Hot Spots featuring Her Excellency Ambassador Marcela Celorio, Consul General of Mexico in Los Angeles. She will present a keynote speech, “Ignorance as a Challenge to Peace,” followed by a moderated question and answer period.
Ambassador Celorio is a distinguished Mexican diplomat. She has served her country at the European Union, in Israel, in New York and in San Diego, among others. In Mexico she has held multiple high-ranking positions. She holds a Law Degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho, a prestigious Law School in Mexico and several other academic degrees in Diplomatic Studies and in Defense Studies, and pursued studies at UCSD and was the first Diplomat in Residence from the Mexican Foreign Service at the American University in Washington DC.
