AAPC&#8217;s CPC curriculum is a blended and fully integrated program, allowing participants to complete 88\u00a0hours of class room instruction and 25 hours of online learning in preparation the AAPC&#8217;s CPC certification examination.\u00a0This program will teach participants the principles of medical coding related to the three main code books: CPT\u00ae , ICD-10- CM Code Set and HCPCS Level II.<\/p>\n<h2>Who Should Attend<\/h2>\n<p>This program\u00a0is recommended for anyone who is preparing for a career in medical coding for a physician\u2019s office and strongly recommended for anyone who is preparing for AAPC\u2019s CPC certification examination.<\/p>\n<h3>Prerequisites<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy (or AAPC courses) strongly recommended.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Benefits<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Receive instruction from an AAPC certified Instructor (CPC, CPCI)<\/li>\n<li>Network with medical coding professionals<\/li>\n<li>Receive certificate from the University of La&nbsp;Verne upon completion<\/li>\n<li>Voucher for\u00a0AAPC&#8217;s Certified Professional Coder certification(CPC) exam<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Course Objectives<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify the purpose of the CPT\u00ae, ICD-10-CM Code Set, and HCPCS Level II code books<\/li>\n<li>Understand and apply the official ICD-10-CM coding guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Apply coding conventions when assigning diagnoses and procedure codes<\/li>\n<li>Identify the information in appendices of the CPT\u00ae manual<\/li>\n<li>Explain the determination of the levels of E\/M services Code a wide variety of patient services using CPT\u00ae , ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes<\/li>\n<li>List the major features of HCPCS Level II Codes<\/li>\n<li>Provide practical application of coding operative reports and evaluation and management services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Completing the Program<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>An attempt of all required assignments<\/li>\n<li>A passing score of 70% or higher on all chapter exams<\/li>\n<li>A passing score of 70% or higher on the final exam<\/li>\n<li>An overall final course score of 70% or higher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), in participation with the University of La&nbsp;Verne Department of Extended Learning (LVEL) is offering the AAPC Certified Professional Coding (CPC) Certificate Program.
